Common interests is what brought Lindsey Vonn and Tiger Woods together. During an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman on Monday, Oct. 28, the 29-year-old Olympic skier opened up about her relationship with the 37-year-old pro golfer.
"You had been friends . . . where did the friendship come from?" host David Letterman asked.
"We're athletes, so I guess we have something in common there," she said. "We met at his charity event in Vegas, Tiger Jam, and, yeah, we were friends for a long time. I don't know, we just kind of relate really well to one another."

Vonn and Woods met at the event in 2012, and confirmed they were dating on Facebook in March 2013. The gold medalist was previously married to fellow skier Thomas Vonn, whom she divorced in 2012. Woods divorced from wife Elin Nordegren in 2010 following an epic cheating scandal.
Vonn told Letterman that she and Woods occasionally enjoy some healthy competition and play each other in their respective sports.

"I have a hole-in-one . . . pretty proud of that. My first round of 18 holes I got a hole-in-one," she bragged. "It didn't bounce off a tree or anything and go into the hole . . . it was pretty legitimate."
"Are you telling the truth?" Letterman asked. "Do you really have a hole-in-one?"
"I'm honest," Vonn said with a smile. "Always."

She was also honest about her boyfriend's skills on the ski slope. "He's good. He always wants to improve," she explained, but added, "Compared to me, he's really not that good."
During an interview on the TODAY show earlier on Monday, however, Vonn praised Woods for helping her recover from a knee injury she sustained at the World Championships in 2013. "He's very patient and he's very mentally tough," she said of her boyfriend. "He's a grinder. He works extremely hard, and he's obviously also had an ACL injury as well and had the same surgery, so he knew what I was going through. He said just be patient, keep working hard, and everything is going to turn around. It really helped me get through it."
