Bellator 106 results: Joe Riggs decisions Mike Bronzoulis in Fight Master finale

LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Sixteen fighters had four Hall of Fame coaches at their disposal during the inaugural season of Bellator's reality show Fight Master.

But despite all their combined wisdom, nothing beats the experience of having more than 50 bouts on your resume.

Joe Riggs proved as much on Saturday night, when he scored a one-sided victory over Mike Bronzoulis in the Fight Master finale at Long Beach Arena. The judges' scores were 30-27 across the board.

After an early feeling-out period, Riggs took over around the midpoint of round one. Riggs scored a takedown, got Bronzoulis' back, and worked for a rear-naked choke. While he couldn't quite put him away, Bronzoulis had no real answer.

Round two was more of the same, as Riggs took over from the get-go. Bronzoulis managed to work into top position near the end of the round, but Riggs worked for submissions from the bottom as the round ended

Riggs scored a slam near the beginning of round three, and dominated the tiring Bronzoulis, though he didn't come close to finishing the fight.

"It means everything to me, I can take care of my family," said Riggs, who took home $100,000 for winning the Fight Master tournament. "I'm excited for the opportunity. I'm so thankful."

Riggs, who was a member of Team Jackson, was asked his thoughts on entering the next Bellator welterweight tournament.

"I just won a tournament, I'd like to get a title shot," said Riggs (40-14, 1 NC). "But f--- it, Bjorn's the man, I'll fight whoever they want me to fight. Bring ‘em on baby."

Bronzoulis, who was a member of Team Couture, dropped to 15-6-1.
